Transport Data System's corporate objective is to design, install, train and support transportation management software which specifically meets the needs of the customer.

Our Corporate Structure

Transport Data Systems is a transportation software company with two principal owners, Dotty Behne-Lucas, President, and Dennis Lucas, Vice President. Transport Data Systems was founded in 1987, in Brookings SD. On November 1, 1989, Transport Data Systems was incorporated in the State of South Dakota, as a Sub-Chapter S Corporation.

Our History

Starting in 1987, Transport Data Systems began designing and creating software to meet the needs of trucking companies with 25 vehicles or less. This class of trucking companies was chosen due to their unique operational and accounting needs. The ability to provide a complete system, at a fair price, to trucking companies of this size is what Transport Data Systems was founded on.

Today and Beyond...

In the 11 years since our company's inception, the transportation industry has seen many changes. We have developed and incorporated software to automate repetitve functions, increase office productivity and communicate data in real time with drivers, shippers and customers. As the industry has developed and changed, so has our company and the products we sell and support. Our continual goal is and will be to meet the needs of this very demanding industry.

Our Relationship with Argos Software

As Transport Data Systems grew and the transportation industry got to know us, we were asked by larger and larger companies to develop software to meet their needs. Based on these requests and in an effort to retain the integrity of the small software package developed by Transport Data Systems, we chose to become an ally of a company already developing software for companies with 25 to 200 trucks. Their name is Argos Software.
